Last Gasp of Summer

Cutter House by Betsy Gibson Design

It’s so lovely to be back on my blog! I have been very busy building the retail arm of Betsy Gibson Design since I last posted.

As I may have alluded to in my Instagram or FB posts, once the pandemic took hold, I sort of “retired” my fresh floral design business. It was too difficult to get flowers on a consistent basis (supply chain issues), and the flowers I did find at the Flower Market were not as nice as they had been pre-pandemic. Beyond that, there were no gatherings calling for flowers for quite some time because of Covid. So…I pivoted and poured all of my time and attention into my home decor and accessories line.

The result of my pivot has been the creation of several collections for my retail arm, Cutter House by Betsy Gibson Design-Floral and Home. I’ve reopened my Cutterhousebgd website and plan to continue creating and posting new designs as time allows!

Logo for the retail arm of Betsy Gibson Design. Named after the original owner of my house, The Jonas Cutter House, Cutter House (or Cutter House by Betsy Gibson Design) is where I highlight all of my home decor and accessories.

Right now, I am highlighting a very “niche” collection….ISLAND ART. The collection is chock full of Nantucket and Fishers Island art in my signature bright, bold, happy colors. My Little Island pattern serves as the backdrop for many of the designs in the collection, and I think it brings a unique and personalized twist to the home decor and accessories market.

BUT…I’m not limiting my ISLAND ART to just those two islands!! They happen to be the ones I know and love and that have meant the most to me during my life, but I am happy to CUSTOMIZE for anyone looking for any other island. Or any state and/or zip code, for that matter. (Confession: I’ve already started!!!) In addition, and in an unanticipated development, I am also bringing custom items to Coastal Grandmothers and Grand Millennialists in the colors that they love. The brights and bolds are still there—I will never stop working with my beloved colors—but I’ve been slowly creating custom designs in colors like Sand, Putty, “Graige”, Light Blue, Slate Blue and, of course, Indigo and Cornflower Blue and White. And I truly love the results!!

I hope you’ll take a look at the newly re-opened shop at Cuttter House by Betsy Gibson Design (Cutter House by BGD). And I hope that you’ll find something that you love! If not, please contact me about custom designs and colors to match your personal aesthetic!

Now, back to work for me!!
